Ziggi’s Coffee in Saco is closed, and the future of the coffee shop is uncertain.
Ziggi’s Coffee opened a take-out location at 3 Waterfall Drive, on the corner of Route One, in February of this year, becoming the first Maine location for the Colorado-based franchise.
On Oct. 17, the local Ziggi’s Coffee Facebook page announced the coffee shop was temporarily closed and the owners were “working diligently” to find a solution to reopen as soon as possible.
A few days ago, fans of the coffee shop noticed that the signs on the building were covered up, and some people on social media took this as a sign that the closure was more than temporary.
Saco Bay News asked Ziggi’s corporate office late last week if the Saco location had closed, and a spokesperson responded with an email statement this morning:
“Ziggi’s Coffee shops are independently owned and operated by a network of franchisees. Recently, the owners of this location made the decision to close their doors for the foreseeable future. While we do not have information regarding reopening at this time, please stay connected with us for any updates.”
