Saco Bay News was launched in March 2020 by veteran journalist Liz Gotthelf. The independent online-only news source covers local news in the Southern Maine communities of Saco, Old Orchard Beach and Biddeford.
Liz created Saco Bay News to fill the void left when a longtime local newspaper ceased operation. She has a long history of reporting local news and is passionate about providing information to the Saco Bay community. Saco Bay News has become a valued resource where readers can find breaking news, municipal updates and human interest stories.
Liz lives in Old Orchard Beach with a slightly spoiled and very fluffy cat. She enjoys Hula Hooping, scouring the beach for sea glass, and building her Fiestaware collection. She can be reached at newsdesk@sacobaynews.com
