Why are we asking you, our readers, to fill out a survey?

Well, there are a couple of reasons.

It’s been more than six years since Saco Bay News was established. We’ve done some things right, made some mistakes, learned from those mistakes, and want to make our publication even better.

We strive to bring trustworthy, local news that is of interest to our readers. We would like to continue to be relevant to the community, and we want to know what you like best about Saco Bay News, what you think is missing, and what we could do differently.

We are also conducting the survey because we want to gather information, so when we apply for funding, we can show how Saco Bay News has impacted the community.

I launched the survey a few days ago, and already it has inspired me to make a change. A few people said they didn’t like “gross” ads, like the ones for toenail fungus. I, honestly had to agree with them. I went to my Google Adsense account and blocked the toenail fungus ads, as well as a few others.

I heard you, no more gross fungus ads. And if you see one creep in on the website again, let me know. I’ll remove it.
