Thornton Academy names new director of student support
Melissa Camire has joined Thornton Academy in Saco as the school’s director of student support.
Camire previously worked at Child Development Services, where she served as program manager, according to the press release. She received a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from the University of New England and a master’s from the University of Florida. She also holds a Maine Special Education Administrator Certification, according to the press release.
Camire lives in Saco with her husband, Jeff, and their children. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and watching her boys’ sporting events, according to the press release.
Thornton Academy, founded in 1811, is located at 438 Main St., Saco. It is a private boarding and day school serving grades six through 12, with private pay students as well as students who are publicly funded through contracts with local school departments. Students come from more than 30 towns in Maine and New Hampshire, as well as over 50 countries around the world, according to the school’s website.
