SACO — Ricetta’s Brick Oven Ristorante in Saco has closed its doors “indefinitely.”

The restaurant announced this evening on social media an “indefinite closure,” though the post implies that it could be permanent.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the indefinite closure of Ricetta’s Saco. We are extremely humbled that so many embraced our cuisine since we first opened. We want to thank you all for your support and memories over the past years that we’ve been able to share,” wrote restaurant management on Facebook.

Ricetta’s website states that the Saco location is closed until further notice due to staffing shortages, and the Falmouth location is still open.

Ricetta’s opened the Saco restaurant in 2019 in the former Kerrymen Pub building at 512 Main St. The Main Street (Route One) location is right off the highway in a busy commercial area. The restaurant was known for its brick-oven pizza, as well as pasta and other Italian entrees.

The 512 Main St. property has been listed for sale for more than three months. According to an online real estate listing with Coldwell Banker, the asking price is $1.5 million. The restaurant was remodeled in 2019 and is nearly 6,800 square feet, with a parking lot to accommodate at least 21 cars, according to the listing.
