Saco Fire Department’s Open House is back for another exciting morning of exploration, education, and fun.
Meet our Firefighters and Emergency Medical Service Providers at Saco Fire Department’s Central Station on May 16. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the facility, sit inside a fire truck or ambulance, and more.
Media are welcome to attend and interview opportunities will be available, focused on the service the department provides to the Saco community, how a strong mutual aid network allows us to support and receive assistance from neighboring communities, and why we’ve launched a community risk reduction program to address needs before they become emergencies.
Saco Fire Department holds this event annually to meet with community members and promote an understanding of the work Saco FD does around the clock and throughout the year. You’ll learn about the daily life of our Firefighters and EMS Providers, see and touch the equipment they use, and build connections with your local first responders.
When attendees arrive, they can pick up a “passport” to complete by visiting different areas of the station. Anyone who completes their passport will receive some fun prizes and will also be entered into a raffle for a one-of-a-kind experience: a ride in the fire truck during the December 2026 Parade of Lights.
There will be demonstrations throughout the day, including vehicle extrication demonstrations and a virtual reality distracted driving experience by AAA.
Plan to stop by Central Station (271 North Street, Saco) on Saturday, May 16, between 9 a.m. and noon to join us for this beloved annual event.
