Saco’s Deputy Mayor and Ward 2 City Councilor Joshua D. Parks has announced his intent to run for re-election to the council in 2026.

Parks was elected to his first term as City Councilor in 2023, and sent a press release on July 13 stating that he will be running for a second term.

“As a lifelong resident of Ward 2, I am deeply honored that for the past three years I have had the privilege to represent the ward my family has resided in and called home for well over a hundred years,” he said in a written statement. “If given the privilege to continue my service, I am committed to continuing to fight to diminish the tax burden on Saco citizens.”

During his first term, the Council appointed Parks to the roles of Parliamentarian and Deputy Mayor.

“It fills me with enormous pride that my colleagues put their faith in me to fill the big shoes of both roles I’ve filled,” Parks said. “It is my belief that my demeanor, humility and my resilience are just some of the enduring qualities that my colleagues see when they nominated me for these roles.”
