Doris Ortiz was voted the Democratic nominee for the York County Commission District 2 Seat.

Ortiz, of Arundel, beat Roch Angers, of Biddeford 4536-2335 in the Democratic primary on Tuesday. The York County District 2 Seat covers Arundel, Biddeford, Kennebunk and Kennebunkport.

Ortiz beat Angers in Arundel 567 to 74, Kennebunk 1855 to 478 and Kennebunkport 720 to 211. Agers took the lead in Biddeford 1572 to 1394.

Both Ortiz and Angers are former Biddeford City Councilors. Ortiz resigned from the Biddeford City Council in 2025 because she moved to Arundel.

“I'm humbled by the outpouring of support these last few months. So many people stepped up to help campaign, donated and offered words of encouragement. Thank you,” said Ortiz in a Facebook post.

Ortiz will be on the ballot at the November 2026 election. There is no Republican opponent.

The York County Commission District 2 seat is being vacated by Richard Dutremble, who has decided not to seek another term.
