A recent fire at an Old Orchard Beach home where a man was
found dead is currently under investigation by the state Fire Marshal’s office.
Old Orchard Beach police and fire fighters were dispatched to 9 Usen Lane for a reported cardiac event at 9:23 a.m. on Sunday, March 9, according to a press release from Shannon Moss, public safety officer for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
First responders arrived and found the resident of the home, 70-year-old John Chadbourne, dead in the living room, said Moss. The first responders also noticed a fire had occurred inside of the home, she said. The Fire Marshal’s Office was dispatched to investigate, she said.
“The cause and the circumstances of the fire remain under investigation,“ said Moss in the written statement.
Online town property records show Chadbourne as the owner of the mobile home at 9 Usen Lane. The property on March 12 was blocked off by yellow caution tape and a sign on the door of the home said it was uninhabitable.
