The town of Old Orchard Beach will soon be looking for a new town manager.

Tim Pellerin was hired as the Town Manger in May, began the position June 1, and resigned two weeks after his start date.

His resignation, obtained from the town, is straightforward.

The letter, dated June 15, is a sentence long, stating, “Effective June 15, 20216, I submit my notice of resignation as Town Manager of Old Orchard Beach.”

Prior to taking on the position of Old Orchard Beach town manager, Pellerin was the town manager of South Berwick. Pellerin began his career in public service in 1980, as a firefighter/EMT in Brunswick, according to a press release from the town issued last month. He later worked as a firefighter in Portland and as Deputy Fire Chief in Westbrook. Pellerin also served as Lincoln County's director of emergency management and 911 communications, town manager/Fire Chief of Rangely, and town manager of Harrison.

Current Town Manager Diana Asanza is retiring from the position, effective July 3.

Town Council Chairman Shawn O’Neill was not available for comment as of press time. This story will be updated when more information is available.
