Chiropractor Frank Pelleteri sits in his Saco office next to a display of Hess trucks.

It’s part of a collection he’s procured over the years. His grandfather gave him one of the toy trucks for Christmas when he was four, and he’s gotten one for Christmas every year since.

Small touches like the toy truck display help make Pelleteri’s third floor office at 209 Main St. feel welcoming. He’s created a relaxed atmosphere with a personalized approach, that intentionally doesn’t feel like a typical medical office.

“I want patients to come in and trust me and trust that they’re going to get good care,” he said.

Pelleteri opened his practice in October 2023, shortly after graduating from the University of Bridgeport School of Chiropractic. When he saw the building at 209 Main St., Saco, he knew right away that it was where he wanted his practice to be. The space in the historic building has features like exposed brick walls and wood floors with modern touches like a brand-new HVAC system.

“I bring a fresh take to chiropractic. Most of the chiropractors, especially around here, have been doing this for 20 plus years, and you kind of get stuck in a rut, you do a lot of the same things. Being fresh out of school, I have so many ideas in my head. Every patient gets their own personalized care plan from adjustments to muscle work to rehab exercises. Everyone’s different, so everyone gets different treatments,” he said.

He shares his office suite with a massage therapist and an esthetician, and is looking for another complimentary wellness business to join them. He said growing up, his physician shared an office with other health professionals, including a psychiatrist and a physical therapist, and he liked the thought of having other health care and wellness practitioners on site that he could refer his patients to.

“I didn’t want to be a one man show,” he said.

Pelleteri was an athlete throughout high school and college and was a thrower on the track and field team and a power lifter.

“I hurt my back power lifting, and spent about a month doing the usual treatment – heat and ice and physical therapy. Eventually my Dad convinced my Mom to take me to his chiropractor and after about two days, I was back to 100 percent,” he said.

He said he went to a chiropractor pretty regularly through college and he decided after graduating with an undergraduate degree from Regis College to go to chiropractic school. A month into the program at University of Bridgeport, he fell in love with the chiropractic field.

“This is what I feel like I’m supposed to do,” he said.

When Pelleteri decided to take “the big leap” and start his own business, he found it helpful to have so many kind people in Saco. He said he likes the friendly atmosphere in Saco, the sense of community, and the ability to make personal connections and word-of-mouth recommendations.

“I’ve met a lot of great business owners. Everyone around here has been so welcoming,” he said.

Pelleteri Chiropractic, in addition to regularly scheduled daytime hours, has evening hours as well as time set aside for walk-ins to accommodate people’s schedules and needs. Contact Pelleteri online or by calling (207) 494-7705.
