Dizzy Birds in Biddeford has announced the closing of the Biddeford restaurant, as the owners shift their business focus.

Dizzy Birds opened at 65 Main St., Biddeford over five  years ago, featuring rotisserie chicken and homestyle cooking. Owners Tom and Barb Peacock announced in an email to loyalty members that the downtown Biddeford restaurant will be closing at the end of December.

“Over the past 6 years we have had the privilege of feeding so many wonderful folks that make up this welcoming community. We have been told numerous times that eating at Dizzy Birds is like enjoying the food from your grandmother’s kitchen. We have always felt that to be a gracious compliment and accepted it with pride,” wrote Tom and Barb Peacock in the email.

The couple wrote that they will still be operating the catering business and are working on a franchise model “that will focus on some of the scratch-made elevated comfort food that you have come to love.” They said they also hope to make their chicken pot pies available for sale in select markets.
