Local Flavor: Blaze closing in Biddeford
Blaze Brewery is closing its tap room at 28 Pearl St. in Biddeford.
Owners Matt and Evelina Haskell announced on Facebook on Thursday that Sunday would be the last day of operation for the tasting room and restaurant. They said the Biddeford bar would be closed for at least three months, and “very likely” permanently.
Blaze will still be producing beer at 28 Pearl St., however. The company has acquired “a significant interest” in Black Bear Brewing, and Black Bear beer is now being brewed in Biddeford.
The couple is also going to focus their energy at their new winter restaurant at the ski lodge at Big Moose Mountain in Greenville Township.
Blaze Brewing will be moving its production brewery from Biddeford to Doles Orchard in Limington, which the Haskells purchased in 2023.
“We are not closing the door on Biddeford forever, we may return later, but for now we need more space to make more beer and Cider, and we've got one more beverage program up our sleeve that we will announce later on which we will just flat out need more space to produce. The orchard will provide that and so much more and we look forward to seeing you all out there soon,” wrote Matt and Evelina Haskell.
