Kelp, a new boutique gift shop, is the latest addition to downtown Old Orchard Beach.

Located at 37 Old Orchard St., Kelp is not just adjacent to Caf 64, but it is connected to the caf. Customers can drift and wander between the two spaces, grab a cup of coffee or snack and then go shopping.

Sam and Levi Rush and Gabe Kidd, owners of Caf 64, are also the owners of Kelp. The trio celebrated the opening this past weekend with a ribbon cutting.

Like the popular coffee shop next door, Kelp will also be open year-round. The coastal boutique was created with a focus on providing a place for local community members to shop year-round for unique gifts or fun items for themselves, said Sam Rush.

Natural wood walls are the backdrop for local art, plants and eye-catching gift displays. A disco wall in the back provides a fun background for selfies.

Display tables are organized by color, with a range of items including books, tote bags, key chains, toiletries, candles, plush animals and kitchen accessories. There is also a selection of upscale causal clothing, as well as a rack of vintage items.
