The “Run of the Mill” building at 100 Main St. in Saco is scheduled to be auctioned Nov. 22 unless back taxes are brought up to date.

A landmark structure on Saco Island, the building has housed the Run of the Mill restaurant and brewpub since 2008, and twenty-five “loft style” apartment units since 2021. The building also  includes about 3,200 square feet of office space. The four-story brick building was built in 1838, and with several other 19th Century mill buildings is located in the Biddeford-Saco Mills Historic District, a National Historic district.

Tranzon Auction Properties is set to entertain offers for the iconic 4.39 acre property, with a current value as assessed by the City of $3,010,800. The auction is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Nov. 22 on site, just off Main Street.

Outstanding property taxes currently total $210,716.62, which includes tax years 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and the first half of 2025 according to information provided by Tranzon, and corroborated by Saco Tax Collector Kristy Cyr.

In addition to property taxes, there are outstanding balances for water and sewer bills totaling $41,349.39, as reported on the Tranzon website.

The property last changed hands in December 2017 when it was acquired by the ROTM Lofts LLC for $1,575,738 from Saco Island West LLC. Prior to that, the ownership group had purchased the property for $4,820,890 from the Cutts Island Group in October 2007.
