A food truck park is opening in Biddeford this weekend.

The Lot, at 64 Alfred St., is having a soft opening this weekend, said owner Steve Liautaud. The line-up of vendors includes Pasta 212 and Amal Alsham Shawarma Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with Jeff’s Jamaican added to the mix on Saturday. Hours this weekend will be 4-11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.- 11p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Liautaud said the website, https://thelotbiddo.com/, is updated regularly, and he advises people to check the site for the most current schedule and for information on changes of vendors.

The Lot will have three to four food trucks on site, said Liautaud. Amal Alsham Shawarma will be a permanent fixture, he said, there will be a rotating line-up of food stands on the other slots. An outdoor dining area will have eight picnic tables, said Liautaud.

“It’s small, intimate – a real cozy spot,” he said. “I’m trying to set it up like an outdoor restaurant.”

He said he wants to create a welcoming ambiance, with cherry-picked food vendors providing good food.

“I only want the best,” he said.

There will be restrooms made from repurposed shipping containers that will have sinks and flush toilets.

Liautaud said he would like to secure a breakfast vendor. He envisions The Lot open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on the weekends and throughout most of the week though he’s going to let the schedule evolve as he and the vendors figure out what works and what doesn’t. The Lot will be seasonal. It will remain open until October and reopen in May.

There are some scheduled event weekends this summer where Liautaud has partnered with a local organization to serve beer. Check the website for more information.
