Firefighters from Old Orchard Beach and neighboring communities have responded tonight, July 2, to a fire at Vallee Lane.
The fire appears to be on the property of Casella Waste Systems waste management company. Thick streams of smoke billowed from the property around 7 p.m. and could be seen from the concert at The Ballpark, where firefighters onsite left to go assist in putting out the fire.
According to a Facebook post from the Scarborough Fire Department, crews were working on a large outside trash fire involving an excavator.
