Biddeford firefighters responded to a fire around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23 at Parkview Court Building #6.

Biddeford Deputy Chief Kiesman arrived on-scene and found an outdoor fire behind the back of the building that was extending up the outside of the building and into the eves of the roof, according to a press release from the Biddeford Fire Department.

The fire was quickly contained, and the mutual aid units from Arundel, Saco and Old Orchard Beach returned to their communities.

No Occupants were displaced by the fire, and there were no civilian or firefighter injuries, according to the press release.

The cause of the fire was investigated by the Biddeford Fire Department, State Fire Marshals Office, and the State Forest Service Department Rangers. It was determined that the fire was accidental, and caused by improper outside burning, according to the fire department. Crews cleared the scene around 4:40 p.m.

There were four simultaneous emergency calls occurring in the city – three Emergency Medical Services calls and one building fire.

When the 911 call for the building fire was received, Biddeford also received a 911 Emergency Medical Services call. The Biddeford Fire Department was already operating at two separate EMS incidents. Goodwins Mills provided an ambulance for one of the EMS calls.
