The Biddeford + Saco Chamber of Commerce + Industry recently celebrated Empeople Credit Union’s new downtown Biddeford location with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

City officials, chamber members, credit union employees and members of the local business community gathered at the Nov. 6 ribbon cutting to tour the new branch and learn about the business, enjoy local pizza and craft beer, socialize and network. Empeople’s  location at 145 Main St., Biddeford is accessible to the downtown business community and was designed by Great Falls Construction and Adrenaline business consultants.

The Biddeford branch replaces the former Arundel branch at 1298 Alfred Road. Although the Arundel credit union is now closed, the ATM at 1298 Alfred Road is still operational.

Empeople Credit Union has other locations in Maine at Westbrook, Scarborough, Portland and Bangor, and also has a branch in Moline, Illinois.

According to the credit union’s website, “Empeople Credit Union serves employees, contract employees and retirees of John Deere; John Deere dealerships, employees of a John Deere wholly-owned subsidiary or joint venture. Empeople also serves the communities of Cumberland and York counties, Maine, and the city of Bangor, Maine, and immediate family of a current member.”
