Driver has minor injuries after Maine Turnpike accident
SACO — An accident caused traffic delays this morning on the southbound Maine Turnpike.
Around 8:45 a.m. today, March 1, a Toyota Camry and Toyota Scion collided at the 37 southbound mile marker on Interstate 95 South in Saco, according to a written statement from the Maine State Police.
The Camry came to rest in the median and the Scion spun out and crashed backwards into a stopped tractor trailer that was in the breakdown lane, according to Maine State Police.
The driver of the Toyota Scion sustained minor injuries and was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland, according to the police statement.
One of the three I-95 South lanes was closed while police, firefighters and other public safety personnel responded to the accident, according to the statement from Maine State Police. The lane was reopened later this morning.
