City Theater is off to the French Riviera this summer July 17 – Aug. 2  with Broadway's smash-hit musical comedy, "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels." Based on the popular 1988 MGM film, it takes us to the French Riviera for high jinks and hilarity.

Sophisticated, suave with a good dash of mischief, this hysterical comedy features a delightfully jazzy score by David Yazbek ("The Full Monty") and book by Jeffery Lane. "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" was nominated for a staggering eleven Tony Awards.

This is the story of two very funny con men who try to out-con each other. When it becomes apparent that the Riviera isn't big enough for the both of them, they make a winner-take-all wager over the fortunes of a naïve American soap heiress: the first one to "clean her out" can make the other clear out and keep the Riviera and its unsuspecting tourists to himself. This hysterical musical comedy will have you laughing out of your seat.

The cast includes City Theater favorites Caleb Lacy as the sophisticated and suave con artist Lawrence Jamison, Joel Crowley as the ambitious, young crass and clever Freddy Benson, Colleen Katana as the sweet and clumsy “American Soap Queen” heiress Christine Colgate, Märgen Soliman as the wealthy and charismatic Murial Eubanks. While often seen backstage designing and building, Sean St. Louis Farrelly steps in front of the footlights as Andre, the stoic chief of police. New to the City Theater stage is Madeline Downey as Jolene the energetic oil heiress from Oklahoma. Rounding out the cast are the multi-talented ensemble: Sofia Andrade, Brian Daly, Adam Gallant, Curran Grant, Brian Phillip Harris, Lizzie Hobbs, Landon Jacobson-Theriault, Lynn McKellar, Bella Mok, Ashley Shevenell, and Hannah Stetson.

The creative team for City Theater’s production for "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels": Linda Sturdivant (Producer/ Director), Patrick Martin (Music Director), Mariel Roy (Choreographer), Andrea Carr (Assistant Director), Sean Farrelly (Scenic Design), Janice Toomey (Costume Design), Derek Kingsley (Dialect Coach), Florence Cooley (Lighting Design), Peter Salsbury (Props and Set Decoration), Arcadia Recording (Sound Design), and Greg Brackett (Stage Manager).
