Yesterday's tragic event has affected many members of the Biddeford community.

Whether you witnessed the incident, know someone involved, work nearby, or are simply feeling the weight of what happened, it's important to know that support is available.

The City of Biddeford, in partnership with Sweetser, is offering free, individual support sessions for anyone who would benefit from talking with a trained crisis response professional.

Support Sessions

-Tuesday, July 14, 6-9 p.m. at JR Martin Community Center, 189 Alfred St., Biddeford

_Wednesday, July 15, 9 a.m. – noon, The Reach 118 Alfred S.t, Biddeford

These sessions are open to anyone in the community who has been impacted by this event, directly or indirectly. No appointment is necessary.

If you or someone you know is experiencing an emotional or mental health crisis and needs immediate support, call or text 988 to connect with a trained crisis counselor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Please reach out to the General Assistance office at 207-284-9514 or Jacob.hammer@biddefordmaine.org for any resources or referral needs.

Healing looks different for everyone, and there are many ways to respond after a traumatic event. Reaching out for support is a sign of strength, and the city encourages anyone who feels they could benefit to take advantage of these services.
