The Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fire that occurred at a boat storage facility in Biddeford on Monday morning.

A structure fire at Kennebunk Marina boat storage, 540 Elm St., Biddeford, occurred around 7:45 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 6, according to a press release from Shannon Moss, public information officer with the Maine Department of Public Safety.

The property sustained damage after a fire began in one of the boats stored at the facility, said Moss. As the fire spread, several other boats were damaged and the storage building suffered structural damage.

Investigators have confirmed that the fire is not considered suspicious, said Moss.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire, with assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Biddeford Fire Department, according to Moss.
