Town Information for Old Orchard Beach:
· The What’s Up line is adding new information today May 31st but wants to be sure that as this situation continues OOB residents remember they can call the OOB COVID ASSISTANCE LINE, staffed from 9AM to 3PM Monday through Friday, to assist you with any non-emergency needs. The number is 934-0860.
· The Town Hall has reopened. Access to the building is through the Portland Ave. doors and you must wear a face covering. Only 1 person per window but the tax window will allow to customers at a time. Hours are Monday to Friday 8 to 2 with extended hours until 4 on Tuesday. If you would like to make an appointment you can call the Town Hall at 934-5714 Appointments are available Monday to Friday from 2 – 4 with extended hours on Tuesday until 6. Please note General Assistance, Human Resources and the Town Managers Office are available only by appointment. The drop box is still available and the town strongly encourages residents to use that if possible.
· Some town meetings are happening, and although the public can not attend you can watch the meetings on SPECTRUM channel 1301 or go to the town website www.oobmaine.com then click on meeting video and you can watch the meeting online.
· The Primary Election scheduled for June 9th has been rescheduled to July 14th.
· The beach is open for all activity including sitting and sunbathing. Please remember to keep at least 6 feet between groups of people on the beach and limit groups to no more than 10 people.
· Libby Library is reopening Tuesday June 2nd . While patrons will not be allowed in the building just yet you can reserve books by calling the library at 934-4351 or emailing info@ooblibrary.org. The online catalog of books is available on the website www.ooblibrary.org and you can reserve your books here too. Library staff will bring your books to you in the parking lot. Hours are Tuesday – Friday 10 to 7 and Saturday 10-3.
· Some of the town’s restaurants will begin offering outdoor dining beginning Monday June 1st. Those restaurants that offered curbside takeout and delivery will continue to do so. Many restaurants are being creative with dining experiences for their customers so lets continue to support them.
· Downtown counter service restaurants are open. Please follow their social distancing and safety procedures, which were developed so they could open safely.
· The playground and basketball courts remain closed at Memorial Park however the benches on Old Orchard Street have been returned and the public restrooms are open.
· The Town is adhering to the guidelines set be the state for the phased reopening of private short-term rentals, motels, campgrounds and other lodging establishments.
· A letter was mailed to all residents explaining the emergency contact system available to OOB residents. There are instructions in the letter for how to sign up for to receive alerts and updates on the current situation. If you have not already done so we encourage you to create an account.
· The Urban Runoff Race scheduled for June 20th and the Cash Memorial Race scheduled for June 27th will both be virtual events this year. For more information or to register you can go online to

· The Salvation Army continues to service residents of OOB. If you are in emergency need of food call 207-934-4381 ext.105 to place an order for a food package. Carry out meals are offered on Tuesdays and Fridays at the Salvation Army on 6th Street. Please call 207-934-4381 ext.103 by noon the day before and leave a call back number.
