KENNEBUNK — State troopers recovered a handgun reportedly stolen during a Saco car burglary.

A State Police Trooper stopped a car for speeding on I-95 around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, said Maine Department of Public Safety Public Information Officer Shannon Moss in a press release. The car was a rental car, and occupied by two men and two juvenile males, said Moss.

Three loaded handguns were seized, two of which had rounds in the chambers. One of the handguns had been reported stolen from Saco in a motor vehicle burglary, said Moss. Also seized from the vehicle was 18 grams of cocaine base (crack) and 2 grams of fentanyl, she said.

Three of the occupants of the car were arrested, said Moss. After contacting juvenile probation one juvenile was released to a parent. One juvenile was transported to the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland. He appeared in court Thursday morning and was released to his parents on house arrest, said Moss.

Abdulkadir Ahmed, 18, of Lewiston was transported to the York County Jail. He was charged with Felony Receiving Stolen Property (Firearm), a Class B crime. He was released Thursday on $5,000 cash bail, said Moss.

The fourth occupant has not been charged at this time, said Moss. The investigation is ongoing.
