Second person charged in Biddeford drug bust

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency announced a second person has been charged related to the investigation and the seizure of over seven pounds of fentanyl in Biddeford on May 1.

Alyssa Staples 23, of Biddeford, was charged with Unlawful Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule Drugs, (Fentanyl) Class A. The charge was increased to aggravated due to total drug weights and firearm possession.

 On May 1, MDEA agents arrested Almuntadhar  Mohammed for drug trafficking warrants after an eight-month investigation involving Mohammed selling fentanyl to undercover agents in Cumberland and York counties. During a search warrant at Mohammed’s Ray Street, Biddeford apartment, agents seized over 7 pounds of fentanyl, a loaded firearm and other items indicative of drug trafficking.

On May 2, agents charged Mohammed with an additional 5 counts of Unlawful Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Fentanyl) related to the seizure of the over seven pounds of fentanyl and firearm from the Ray Street apartment the day before.

 

Based on evidence seized during the May 1, Ray Street, Biddeford search warrant and fentanyl seizure, agents charged Alyssa Staples with Unlawful Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Fentanyl). Staples and Mohammed are in a domestic relationship and live together at the Ray Street apartment.

Staples was charged by summons with an initial appearance court date of July 30 in York Judicial Center.

The investigation is continuing, and additional arrests and charges are anticipated.
