Saco woman dies in scuba diving accident

KITTERY — A Saco woman died in a scuba diving accident on Sunday.

Tonya Cianchette, 45, of Saco was diving near the Isles of Shoals with a recreational dive charter company when she was injured, according to the Maine Marine Patrol.

Cianchette was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead, according to the Maine Marine Patrol.

The incident is under investigation. No further information is available at this time.
