The city of Saco is seeking submissions for a design to help promote the 2025 Camp Ellis HarborFest.

The annual Camp Ellis HarborFest celebrates the working waterfront, the seaside community of Camp Ellis and efforts to protect the shore. This year’s HarborFest will be held in August. The festival began in the late 1970s and after being on hiatus for several years was revived in 2023, and is once again an annual event.

The theme for the requested artwork is “Camp Ellis Back in Time,” and the design should reflect the area’s history, according to the contest rules.

The winning artist will receive $200 as well as a poster and t-shirt featuring their design. The chosen design will be used on the 2025 Camp Ellis HarborFest t-shirt and marketing materials, and will be featured on the city’s website and social media platforms.

Entries must be submitted to the Saco Economic Development office by 4 p.m., Feb. 3. Submissions will be reviewed by the Saco Arts Commission and the HarborFest Committee.

All artwork must be original and credited to a single individual, and submissions are limited to one per artist, according to the rules.
