SACO — The 52nd annual Saco Main Street Sidewalk Arts Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the heart of Saco’s downtown.
The annual art festival is held by local downtown organization Saco Main Street with support from the City of Saco and sponsoring businesses.
Main Street will be closed to traffic from Thornton Avenue to Water Street from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday to make room for artists booths, and allow artists time to set up and take down their displays.
Festival attendees can stroll down Main Street and check out the approximately 60 artists and crafters who will be showcasing a variety of works including oil painting, pottery, photography, rope art and tote bags. Several local nonprofits will also have information booths set up. There will also be music, a penny auction and a children’s craft area.
The Saco Arts Commission is seeking volunteers to touch up buoy and fish crosswalks downtown and paint a new geometric crosswalk. Work begins at 9 a.m., and volunteers can sign up online.
