SACO — The Saco Main Street Sidewalk Arts Festival returns on Saturday for its 51st year.

The annual art festival will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m, on Saturday turning downtown into a walkable art gallery. There will be 64 artists and crafters showcasing their work, with a broad spectrum of items on display including paintings, photography, jewelry and sculpture.

The Main Street will be closed to traffic from Thornton Avenue to Water Street from 7:15 a.m. to 5 p.m., to allow for the festival and give vendors time to set up and break down their booths.

Saco Lodge #9, Masonic Lodge will be selling food, Bob Costigan Music will be performing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and there will be the popular penny raffle.

The Saco Arts Commission will touch up the buoy crosswalk near Rapid Ray’s and will be painting a new crosswalk near the post office.

New this year will be a kid’s corner with balloon animals, a henna artist and art and activities from Mill Art Studios.

The annual event is hosted by downtown organization Saco Main Street in conjunction with the City of Saco and local sponsors.
