The Pumpkin Harvest Festival returns this year in downtown Saco on Saturday, Oct. 19.

The annual festival, presented by local downtown group Saco Main Street, will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Main Street will be closed to traffic from the intersection of Water Street/Pepperell Square to Thornton Avenue from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Saco Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee will provide a bicycle valet at the event.

There will be a pumpkin patch featuring pumpkins decorated by Saco K-8 students. Other activities include a pie-eating contest and performances by dancers from Steppin’ Out, Collective Motion Arts Center, and the Maine Baton Twirling Council. DJ Kris Hype will be spinning tunes from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a live performance from Tumbledown Saints from 1 - 3 p.m.

In addition to the festivities, the Pumpkin Harvest Festival will feature local vendors and businesses offering a variety of handmade goods, tasty treats, seasonal crafts, and family-friendly activities. There will also be pony rides, a carnival area, and an appearance by T-Bone, a 29-foot-long dinosaur. Food will be available for purchase at the event, including items served by Saco Masons Lodge #9.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled to the following Saturday, Oct. 26.
