Old Orchard Beach man arrested for alleged child abuse
SANFORD — An Old Orchard Beach man has been arrested for allegedly abusing a 2-year-old child.
The Sanford Police Department on July 25 responded to a report from Southern Maine Health Care of a 2-year-old child with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to a written statement issued last week by the Sanford Police Department.
An investigation by detectives from the Sanford Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for Joshua Ouellette, 24, of Old Orchard Beach, for charges of aggravated assault and assault, according to Sanford police.
Police searched for Ouellette in Sanford and Old Orchard Beach and he was arrested on Aug. 1 by the Old Orchard Beach Police Department, according to the press release.
The two-year-old child with serious injuries was not related to Ouellette, according to Sanford police.
Oullette is being held at York County Jail in Alfred on $10,000 bail.
