Those of you who have been following the news regarding the reopening of Huot’s Seafood Restaurant in Camp Ellis, you may have heard that they had a surprise soft opening on May 1. The restaurant officially opens for the season on Mother’s Day weekend.

It looks like the new team of owners, comprised of Alan Waugh, Sean Walker, Robbie Gillin, Ian Flanagan and Jonathan Corpina, will be using the tried-and-true recipes that have made Huots a favorite place for seafood for decades.

“After reading the incredible comments and overwhelming support the community had for Gerry and Denise’s most recent post, the one major takeaway we learned was, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. As evident by the blood, sweat and tears that Gerry and Denise poured into Huot’s, there is absolutely nothing broken here! From the Clam Cakes and Baked Haddock to the Scallops and Onion Rings, we will be following the same family recipes that have made Huot’s a big part of the Camp Ellis Community and New England for the past 87 years,” wrote the new owners in a recent Facebook post.

In the meantime, you can get a seafood fix at Wednesday’s Fish and Whistle Pop-Up. Fish and Whistle, an upcoming seafood restaurant in Biddeford set to open later this spring, will be doing a pop-up at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11,  at Lorne Wine, 61 Main St., Biddeford. They will be serving fried crab sandwiches and French fries in honor of soft-shell crab season. They will be serving until they sell out, so come early.

If you’re looking for breakfast or lunch, David’s Sub Shop has settled into its new location at 8 Heath St., Old Orchard Beach. The newly renovated store has seating for 20 people, and is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Monday through Saturday.

Tami Lynn's Place also opened for the season yesterday at 126 West Grand Ave. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have a wide range of fresh, made-to-order items, including pizza, burgers and seafood.
