A new café has opened in downtown Saco.

Finestkind opened Thursday at 17 Pepperell Square, the site of the former New Moon Café. The restaurant is owned by restaurant veterans Tom and Victoria Barthelmes, working with business partners Chris and Paige Gold.

The café serves breakfast and lunch, and hours are 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday through Monday. Breakfast items include brown butter waffle, smoked salmon toast, and the red and black lumberjack – fried egg, horseradish, and smoked brisket between two homemade hashbrowns. Lunch options include lobster sliders, macaroni and cheese and Waldorf salad. Baked goods are made fresh inhouse and include brioche donuts, cinnamon buns and mudslide cookies.
