Local Flavor: New bar in Biddeford and Saturday specials in Saco

Apero, a cocktail and charcuterie lounge has opened at 20 Alfred St. in Biddeford.

The bar features a carefully curated selection of wine, local beer, coffee drinks and hand-crafted cocktails and mocktails. Beverages can be paired with local pastries or charcuterie boards.

Sisters Marie Grasser and Sophia Normantas, owners of Apero, announced on social media that the lounge was opening today, Dec. 13. Look for more about Apero in next week’s Local Flavor.

 

Saturday in Saco

During Saco’s Festival of Lights on Saturday, go downtown for the festivities and check out some local businesses.

Vic and Whit’s, 206 Main St., Saco, is hosting a free wine tasting on Saturday from 2 – 5 p.m. The tasting will feature wines that pair well with holiday season.

The Saco Scoop, 209 Main St., Saco, is hosting a free event with Tinker Tim from 1 – 3 p.m. Saturday. Learn how to make an ornament to take home and enjoy some ice cream.

Swell coffee shop, 200 Main St., will reopen for the evening on Saturday from 4:30-7 p.m. serving hot drinks and offering children’s Christmas crafts. 

The Golden Rooster, 236 Main St., will be open from 5- 9 p.m. for dinner.
 
Rapid Ray's, 189 Main St., will be giving out free hot chocolate during the parade.
