Local Flavor: Louis Pizza in Biddeford closing
BIDDEFORD — Fans of Louis Pizza have only a few more chances to get that Tuesday cheese pizza special.
The restaurant, a downtown institution at 42 Franklin St. known for its pizza, French fries, steak and cheese bombs and other subs as well as affordable family specials, announced it is closing Wednesday, Aug. 31. Owner Rick Robitaille thanked his staff, family and customers on a Facebook post on Thursday night.
“Thank you and hope I see you around and not be strangers. Louis Pizza may be closed on August 31st but never ever forgotten,” said Robitaille.
Many customers expressed their sadness about the closing and wished Robitaille well.
“I have been coming here since I was a kid. Truly wish you all the best,” wrote one fan.
“You have been my go-to pizza for many years. Wish you the best of luck in whatever the future holds for you,” said another.
Several commented that they would miss the steak and cheese bombs.
“I'm so sad you guys were my pregnancy go to and 4 years later I get a steak and cheese at least once a month. I'm definitely going to miss it. I'll have to have a few before you close,” wrote one customer.
