For those of you waiting to get your Pier Fries fix, mark your calendars.

Bill’s Pizza and Pier Fries, both long-time fixtures on Old Orchard Street in downtown Old Orchard Beach, have announced that they will be opening for the season on Friday, April 26. The spring schedule will be 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday through Sunday, and the food stands will transition to seven-day-a-week operations as the weather gets warmer.

Maine Needhams

This month marks five years since Gerard and Malaika Picard purchased Maine Needhams and began making the iconic potato candy in Saco. To celebrate, the couple is hosting an open house at the candy making facility at 42 Industrial Park Road, Saco from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 20. There will be tours, samples and a chance to win a prize pack.
