Local Flavor: Craft beer store in Biddeford and fundraiser dinner

A new craft beer store has opened in downtown Biddeford.

Brew England, 193 Main St., touts itself as a “beer emporium,” offering a large selection of beer, including IPAs, pilsners, lagers, stout and sours, as well as gluten free and non-alcoholic varieties.

The shop also sells hard cider, hard seltzer, canned cocktails, and hard kombucha, and will soon have wine, snacks and gifts in stock.

Mayor’s Night Out

Mayor’s Night Out is scheduled for 5-9 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 5. Join Biddeford Mayor Marty Grohman, Saco Mayor Jodi MacPhail, and former Biddeford mayors Alan Casavant and Donna Dion at participating restaurants. The proceeds will benefit the family of Sgt. Jacob Wolterbeek.

Wolterbeek was Biddeford's most decorated officer and served for 18 years until his tragic death in a traffic accident on Dec. 12. He leaves behind a wife and three children under 5 years old.

A list of participating restaurants will soon be available at the Mayor’s Night Out event page on Facebook.
