A few weeks ago, I wrote about a few new places that were serving up boba tea on their menu.

Boba, for those of you not in the know, is another name for bubble tea – tea with chewy tapioca pearls or with popping boba – thin-skinned balls of juice or syrup that give your drink a burst of flavor.

There’s a new local option for bubble tea. Boba, with locations in Lewiston and the Maine Mall, opened a restaurant at 15 Old Orchard St., Old Orchard Beach. Boba serves milk tea in many flavors including mango, brown sugar, cookies and cream, taro and vanilla chai, as well as fruit refreshers – black or green tea flavored with fruit jam. In addition to tea beverages, Boba also has a limited menu of casual Asian meal items.
