Local Flavor: Acai bowls at the beach

Next summer, you can grab an acai bowl and a book before heading down to the beach at a new shop in Ocean Park.
Lisa Kidd and Deb Dolan, owners of the seasonal Ocean Park Subs and Grocery at 69 Seaside Ave. and gift shop Cottage Designs at 71 Seaside Ave., a block away from the beach in Ocean Park, announced on social media that they are opening a book and acai bowl store in the space between the sub shop and the gift shop next spring.
“Who doesn’t dream of owning a bakery and a bookstore in one? You’ll find us busy between the sub shop and the gift shops with our new itty bitty Beachside Bookstore where you can order açaí bowls and watch us bake in the back,” stated the Facebook post.
The new shop, Books and Bowls, will replace a takeout pizza restaurant.
