Jack Rabbit Café in Biddeford has closed.

The brunch spot at 14 Main St., in the Pepperell Mill complex, was a beautifully appointed and peaceful spot to take a break and find some tranquility in a hectic day. The coffee was slow-brewed and made to order, and the Scandinavian-inspired pastries received accolades from area foodies.

Owners Anna and Bowman Brown announced on Instagram that the café was closing due to an “underperforming year,” and thanked their customers for their patronage. They said they would still be making their popular cardamom buns, and told followers to stay tuned on where and when they would be available. The couple also owns Elda, a restaurant in the Pepperell Mill complex that is currently closed for winter.

For those of you who still have a hankering for a taco from Sublime Taco, the Washington Street, Biddeford restaurant that closed in early December, there’s good news. Sublime is doing pop-ups and catering events, including a recent pop up at Maine Silverball Tavern in Saco. Follow Sublime on Instagram to learn where they will be next.

Catface Café, which is moving into the space vacated at Part and Parcel at 17 Alfred St., Biddeford has announced an opening date of March 1. The restaurant will feature specialty coffee, beer and wine and a Maine-inspired lunch and weekend brunch menu.
