Local Flavor: A bar in Biddeford, cafe in Old Orchard Beach, and cookout in Saco
Marie Grasser owner of Charcutemarie, and her sister Sophia Normantas have announced that they plan to open Apéro at 20 Alfred St., Biddeford, with a target date of Oct. 1.
Apéro will serve craft cocktails and mocktails along with charcuterie. The sisters said in a video on Instagram that they envision it having a “moody, sexy, fun” Parisian vibe while being a “comfortable, cozy space.”
Café in Old Orchard Beach
Coast Café has opened at 2 Cascade Road in Old Orchard Beach, next to Landry’s Shop ‘n Save. The owner wasn’t available by press time, but according to the café’s Instagram page, Coast Café is open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast is served all day, including pancakes, avocado toast, omelets, smoothies, pastries and coffee.
Labor Day Weekend
Ferry Beach Retreat and Conference Center, 5 Boardwalk Drive, Saco is hosting a Labor Day weekend cookout by the beach, 4-8 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 31. The all-you can-eat menu includes vegan and gluten-free items. There will also be live music and family activities and games. For more information or to buy tickets, go to http://fbch.me/cookout
