OLD ORCHARD BEACH -- On Saturday, the 34th annual Festival of Lights takes place in the Ocean Park community of Old Orchard Beach.

Local artists will display their works at the Saco Bay Artists sale and show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the library lawn, 11 Temple Ave.

At 6:30 p.m. there will be a concert by the Ocean Park Band at The Bandstand next to the library at 11 Temple Ave. Across the street, there will be strawberry shortcake for sale at Jakeman Hall.

The Illumination Night “walk about” will be held at 8 p.m. At this annual event, Ocean Parkers display their creativity by adorning their homes with festive decorations and light displays. Community members are invited to stroll around the neighborhoods of Ocean Park and enjoy the beautiful and fun decorations.

After the walk about, the Dunlap Highland Band will play at 9 p.m. at The Bandstand at 11 Temple Ave. The band is a 20-member group of pipers and drummers, and plays every year at Illumination Night.

Ocean Park is a Chautauqua community established in 1881 that hosts a busy summer schedule of educational, recreational and spiritual programs and activities.
