OLD ORCHARD BEACH — On Saturday, the 35th Annual Festival of Lights will showcase the creativity of homeowners and families in Ocean Park.

During the Ocean Park Community Annual Festival of Lights, or Illumination Night, houses and cottages will be decorated in festive and fun lighted displays. A “walk about” will be held at 8 p.m., at which time visitors can take a leisurely stroll around the seaside community to view the light displays and enjoy a summer evening. After walking around and enjoying the decorations, head down to the Ocean Park Square at 9 p.m. to listen to The Dunlap High Band, a 20-member band of bagpipers and drummers.

Also on Saturday, an art show and sale with Saco Bay Artists will be held on the Ocean Park library lawn from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Ocean Park Band will perform at The Bandstand at 6:30 p.m. In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to The Temple. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the music – and a piece of strawberry shortcake. The annual strawberry shortcake festival will also be held at 6:30 p.m. in front of Jackman Hall.
