Holiday festivities in Saco, Biddeford and Old Orchard Beach continue this weekend

A light parade, breakfast with The Grinch, and a Christmas concert are among the holiday highlights this weekend.

Biddeford

Friday

The Alumni Band will present Visions of Sugar Plums, a holiday concert featuring First Parish handbell ringers and St. James choir at 7 p.m. at Biddeford Middle School Performing Arts Center, 25 Tiger Way.

The annual Biddeford Firefighters IAFF Local 3107 "Night of Laughs Comedy Show" will be held at 8 p.m. at the Biddeford Eagles Club, 57 Birch St. The event will feature three Boston based comedians who have appeared on Letterman, Leno, Comedy Central and more. Money raised goes to year-round programs supported by the Biddeford Career Firefighters, and tickets to the 21+ event can be purchased at the door.

Skate with Santa at University of New England’s Harold Alfond Forum Ice Arena from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2- 3:30 p.m. Reserve your tickets online.

Ongoing

Menorah lighting from Thursday, Dec. 7 to Thursday, Dec. 14. at City Square, across the street from City Hall. The menorah will be lit at 5:30 p.m., except Saturday and Sunday, when it will be lit at 4:15 p.m.

Old Orchard Beach

Saturday

Second annual Breakfast in Whoville, 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. and 10-11 a.m. at The Ballpark, 7 Ballpark Way. A full breakfast with Grinch waffles will be served, and there will be music and games and an appearance by The Grinch. Tickets can be purchased at www.oobrec.com .

Elm Street Light show runs 4:30-9 p.m. at 3 Elm St. Tune into 93.3 to listen to holiday music while watching coordinating Christmas light show. Donations accepted with a portion of proceeds going to the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital.

Saco

Saturday

Saco Main Street is hosting the annual Holiday Festival and Parade of Lights.

Dyer Library, 371 Main St., will have arts and crafts from 9:30 to noon, and next door, the Festival of Trees will be on display at the Saco Museum from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A trolley will run from the train station to Saco Museum, making stops along the way from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. During this timeframe there will be specials at downtown businesses, story time with Santa every 20 minutes at the Saco Main Street office at 15 Pepperell Square, holiday photo ops at Vic and Whit’s park, and children’s activities at Saco Scoop.

The Salvation Army band will play from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the corner of Main and Storer streets.

The Parade of Lights, featuring more than 80 lighted entries, begin at 6 p.m. The parade travels from the intersection of Beach and Middle Streets, down Main Street, to Pepperell Square.

Sunday 

Ferry Beach Conference and Retreat Center is hosting a winter craft fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 5 Boardwalk Drive. Come shop more than 40 craft vendors, the Ferry Beach bake sale, decorate cookies, and take pictures in the holiday scenes. Lunch will also be available for purchase.
