OLD ORCHARD BEACH —  High-speed fiber internet provider GoNetspeed recently announced it has completed a fiber internet build in Old Orchard Beach.

The company invested more than $1.8 million in the latest project, and service is now available to over 3,000 locations in Old Orchard Beach, according to a press release.

Fiber Internet offers symmetrical speeds, meaning that both download and upload are equally fast, according to the press release. GoNetspeed offers residential Internet speeds ranging from 250 Megabits per second to 1,000 Megabits, or 1 Gigabit, per second. For business customers, the company can customize speeds beyond Gigabit capability if necessary, according to the press release.

GoNetspeed is a high-speed fiber internet provider headquartered in Rochester New York, serving residential and business customers in Maine, Alabama, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Missouri, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and West Virginia. The company announced last year it had formed a partnership with Oak Hill Capital that will allow it to accelerate the expansion of its fiber network throughout the Northeastern United States.

Internet service through GoNetspeed is also available in portions of Gorham, Windham, Westbrook, Biddeford, Saco, Gray, New Gloucester, Scarborough, Falmouth, Yarmouth, and Cumberland, according to the press release.
