Old Orchard Beach police are asking for the public’s help in locating a giant sandal.

The police department has taken to social media to get information from the community regarding an alleged theft that occurred on Memorial Day weekend.

Corner’s Surf Company, a downtown surf shop at 4 West Grand Ave., reported that a giant display flip flop was stolen between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Sunday.

The police department shared a Facebook post from Corner’s Surf Company, showing a photo (as seen at the top of this article) of a woman at The Brunswick bar and restaurant with the reported stolen item later Sunday night.

The large sandal mockup appears to be beige with a braided strap. An additional photo shows the flip flop leaning against a wood support column, and it looks to be standing almost waist-high to two nearby adults.

Police are asking anyone who can identify the woman in the photo or has information regarding “Bigfoot’s missing flip flop” to contact the Old Orchard Beach Police Department by calling 207-934-4911, emailing Officer Hayden Sprague @ hsprague@oobmaine.com or sending the department a private message on Facebook.
