BIDDEFORD — Long-time friends Robin Kennedy and Marcia Faulise have formed a sweet business collaboration.

Kennedy opened Robin’s Confections at 586 Alfred St. in 2018, specializing in handmade items like needhams and peanut butter balls and hand-dipped items like chocolate covered Oreos and marshmallows.

Last month, Faulise added Wicked Sweet Florals to the candy shop’s building, offering everyday bouquets and holiday arrangements as well as event and wedding services including custom arbors. Faulise chooses items for her arrangements with a focus on using local farms.

Faulise is originally from Portland, Oregon and recently settled in Saco with her husband, Nick. She has a long history with floral design, learning the trade at a young age. When she was 13, she began helping out in her older sister’s floral design business.

Kennedy and Faulise met about 17 years ago in Germany where their partners were stationed with the military. They became instant friends and their friendship remained strong over the years, even as the two lived on different sides of the continent or different countries.

The two friends discussed partnering and decided that it was a good pairing on multiple levels – not only would they make a great team, but chocolate and flowers go hand in hand.

Robin’s Confections is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Check out Wicked Sweet Florals on Facebook to learn more about the business.
