The Festival of Lights and Parade will once again bring holiday cheer and fun to Saco’s downtown on Saturday.

The annual event, hosted by local downtown group Saco Main Street, will kick off in the morning with events at Dyer Library and Saco Museum. The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with trees decorated by local artists and community members at the Festival of Trees display. The library will host crafts from 9:30 a.m. to noon and letter writing to Santa from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

The fun continues in the afternoon with letters to Santa from noon to 9 p.m. at the Saco Scoop, which will also host Tinker Time at 1 p.m.

At City Hall there will be story time and snowflake crafts from 1 – 3 p.m. During this time period there will also be live caroling on Main Street and a live nativity scene at Post Office Park.  There will be photo opportunities all day long with cut outs at Vic and Whit’s Park.

The Parade of Lights begins at 6 p.m., featuring parade floats and participants decked out in holiday lights. The traveling light display begins at the corner of Beach and Main Streets, heads left down Main Street and ends at Pepperell Square.
