BIDDEFORD — Excitement is building for the future Bull Moose store at The Shops at Biddeford Crossing.

The music retailer announced Thursday it was moving its Sanford store to Biddeford in early 2023. The store will fill a vacancy left when Nubble Books closed in July 2020.

Bull Moose has eight locations in Maine and three in New Hampshire. Brett Wickard founded Bull Moose in 1989 and sold the retail chain in early 2022 to its employees.

The Sanford store opened 25 years ago at The Center for Shopping, 1364 Main St.

The Biddeford spot at 403 Mariner Way will give Bull Moose three times as much space as the Sanford store, according to a Facebook announcement by Bull Moose, and will allow for a book section and an expanded record inventory.

The Facebook post had 1.2 “likes” and “loves,” 328 comments and 350 shares on Monday.

“You will make many people very happy in our area. I can't wait for you to move. I will be visiting often,” said one commenter.

The news was shared in the Biddeford + Saco Community Group on Facebook, and received positive remarks.

“That is absolutely awesome,” wrote a member of the Biddeford + Saco Facebook Community Group.

“This will be great,” said another.
